WPP School of Marketing & Communications graduates its first class

The WPP School of Marketing and Communications in Shanghai, a joint venture between WPP and the Shanghai Art and Design Academy (SADA), had its first batch of students successfully completing its three-year diploma program in marketing and communications.

Forty students completed the WPP program. Of the graduates, 23 won internships at WPP companies in Beijing and Shanghai, with many expected to be hired on in permanent positions.

“All of us at WPP are very proud of our Marketing and Communications School in Shanghai and, particularly, the first graduating class, which is already starting to have a significant impact on the Chinese advertising industry and beyond. It is emblematic of the Chinese approach to building an industry’s capability by devoting significant resources to education,” said Martin Sorrell, CEO, WPP.

“This is only the beginning of the development of the WPP Marketing and Communications School. We would also like to thank Harrison Dong, Executive Deputy Dean, for his deep commitment to building the program, as well as to Jiang Ming, Principal, SADA, for his invaluable support. Congratulations to the first graduating class!” he added.
