Seasoned Expert Joins VSW as Video Business Explodes

NEW YORK – Top search technology company Vertical Search Works (VSW), continues to cultivate its video business by making a key hire, bringing dynamic industry veteran Bill Drolet on as the Senior Vice President of Video Platform Sales. As digital video consumption continues to grow exponentially, VSW will tap into Drolet’s understanding of the shifting media industry to help develop innovative products for advertisers and publishers.

“The sky is the limit on what VSW can do from a video perspective”

Backed by decades in the field, Drolet comes most recently from The Weather Channel where he managed a team of 20 and played a key role in driving over $200 million cross platform sales as the vice president of digital sales. Prior to that position, Drolet held roles as the vice president of sales for Time Inc., Everday Health Inc., and Yahoo! Inc. amongst others.

“It’s no question to us that video is an exciting and competitive landscape, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to invest in that sector of our business with Bill Drolet leading the charge,” said Colin Jeavons, President and CEO of VSW. “Video presents us with tremendous opportunities as we continue to build a solid foundation backed by knowledge and experience. We now have the strategy in place and look forward to watching Bill lead us to greatness in the space.”

As a pioneer in semantic search technology, VSW creates new avenues for advertisers to reach more consumers in meaningful ways. VSW’s proprietary technology knows which ad to serve based on both the content and context of each site it works with. Most recently the company launched Uvidi as a video destination hub and resource for discovering specific content that aligns with users’ interests and needs.

“The sky is the limit on what VSW can do from a video perspective,” said Bill Drolet, SVP of video platform sales. “I am inspired by the endless possibilities currently presented to marketers in the space, and VSW is in a unique and advantageous position as we already have the technology in place to continue to flourish in this area.”
