The New York Times Company Announces First International New York Times Conferences
NEW YORK – The New York Times Company announces its first International New York Times conferences in Hong Kong and Singapore in October.
“It is affecting everything — business, education, societal relations, politics and geopolitics. Our conference aims to explain this inflection and identify how companies, countries and individuals can thrive within it.”
The conferences coincide with the Oct. 15 rebranding of the International Herald Tribune as the International New York Times and reflect The Times’s deepening commitment to Asia and global expansion. As part of the rebrand, the Times Company is integrating International Herald Tribune conferences into the New York Times brand and adding International New York Times conferences to the Company’s growing conference business.
DealBook founder Andrew Ross Sorkin will host dealmakers, business leaders, investors and policy makers for a day of live discussions and exclusive engagements to advance key business opportunities between the American and Chinese markets at the International New York Times’s DealBook: Global Outlook conference on Oct. 21 in Hong Kong. Wei Christianson, chief executive and managing director of Morgan Stanley in Asia, will be a featured speaker. Additional speakers will be announced soon.
Op-Ed columnist Thomas L. Friedman will bring together influential thought leaders and technology executives to make sense of the world’s new digital infrastructure and what it means for global businesses at the International New York Times’s “Next New World” Global Forum on Oct. 25 in Singapore. Meg Whitman, president and chief executive of Hewlett-Packard, will be a featured speaker, with more speakers to be announced.
The Hong Kong DealBook conference is an extension of The Times’s DealBook franchise. The first DealBook conference took place Dec. 2012 at TheTimesCenter in New York. A second annual New York DealBook conference will be announced in the coming months.

The Singapore Global Forum follows the success of the “Next New World” Global Forum that was hosted by Mr. Friedman in San Francisco this past June.
