The AUG Agency acquired by investor Bernard Lim
The AUG Agency has been acquired by a Private Equity Investor and Venture Capitalist, Bernard Lim. Mr Lim has taken a 85 per cent stake in the agency but did not disclose the purchase price other than saying it was a seven-digit figure. The AUG Agency will retain its name, and branding while founder Calvin Cai will stay on as a non-executive role on the board and Christian Timothy Jost remains as Creative Director, and acting Chief Executive Officer.
The AUG Agency provides creative, branding, marketing and PR, Web design and production services. Now headquartered in New York, with offices in Tokyo and Singapore, and partnerships in over 5 cities.
Calvin Cai, Founder of AUG Agency told Digital Market Asia, “The acquisition marked a further step towards its declared goal of further expansion in other key areas, developing its networks in fast-growing markets such as technology segment, and strengthening its digital capabilities.”
On the immediate plans after the acquisition, Mr Lim said, “Now we will have more resources and we are able to grow a lot faster. One of the big opportunities for us is that we are now able to ultilise the additional financial resources to expand in areas of digital technologies, and also in terms of the opportunity to bring the initial vision and road map of The AUG Agency’s listing plans through Reverse Take over (RTO) in Singapore as annouced earlier this year.”
