MTV, Friskies and Disney were among the top 10 most loved brands in social media in November. Hootsuite has released its Top 10 Most Loved Brands in Social Media. The list report looks at 450 of the world’s top companies and examined millions of likes, retweets, favorites, comments, shares and other metrics to determine the best performers.
Other brands included in the list were Starbucks, Twitter, Chanel, The CW, Subway, Cheetos and VH1.
MTV took the number one spot with a boost from its EMA (European Music Awards) show that was held on November 9 in Scotland. The show had its own Twitter handle and hashtags and there was no shortage in of live-tweeting and engagement during, and leading up to the event.
Friskies’ ongoing “Dear Kitten” video campaign is still paying off for this brand in social as it tops the list again, coming in just behind MTV.
Disney performed well largely due to the popularity of its film, Frozen, which generated consistent and positive conversations about Disney throughout the month. As people across the globe gear up for the December holidays, Frozen toys are being cited as the most popular option for young girls, surpassing Barbie in popularity and with one in five parents planning to purchase Frozen merchandise as a gift for their daughters this year, as reported by Forbes.
Coming in just behind Disney in fourth place is Starbucks. Some of the positive conversations this month came from the traditional early November launch of the red holiday-themed takeaway cups, which generated consistent conversation over the rest of the month.
