McCann Worldwide boosts team in Japan; names co-chairs & President
McCann Worldgroup has named Hiroshi Namiki, Representative Director and Chairman of Momentum Japan, and Yasuyuki Katagi, Representative Director President & CEO of McCann Worldgroup Japan and McCann Erickson Japan, as Co-Chairmen of McCann Worldgroup Japan, effective April 1.
Charles Cadell, who continues in his role as President of McCann Worldgroup Asia Pacific, will move from Singapore to Tokyo, to take on additional responsibilities as Representative Director, President & CEO of McCann Worldgroup Japan. Mr Cadell leads the APAC region along with Chairman, Prasoon Joshi, who is also CEO of McCann Worldgroup India, and Vice Chairman, Jesse Lin, who is also Chairman of MRM//McCann APAC and CEO of McCann Worldgroup Greater China.

Both Katagi-san and Namiki-san have helped establish our success in Japan and, as co-chairmen, will help both our existing and new clients grow through further integration of McCann Worldgroup companies,” said Harris Diamond, Chairman and CEO, McCann Worldgroup.
“Charles has done a great job across the region driving and strengthening our creative and strategic capabilities and building our integrated collaborative culture to deliver growth opportunities to all of our clients. Given our similar opportunities in Japan, I’ve asked him to expand his role and be based in one of our largest global markets to bring his regional and global client experience to bear,” Mr Diamond added.
In his expanded role, Mr Cadell will have overall responsibility for building on the strong integrated team of McCann Worldgroup agencies in Japan to continue to further their momentum. From his region wide perspective, Mr Cadell has increased cross-discipline integrated communications activity across APAC countries to successfully drive growth.
Mr Namiki is currently Representative Director & Chairman of Momentum Japan and will retain these responsibilities as part of his promotion to Co-Chairman McCann Worldgroup Japan. Mr Katagi, currently Representative Director, President & CEO of McCann Worldgroup Japan and McCann Erickson Japan, is being promoted to Co-Chairman MWG but will retain his responsibilities as Representative Director, President & CEO of McCann Erickson Japan. Both Mr Katagi-san and Mr Namiki-san in their new roles will continue to support Cadell in leading McCann Worldgroup in the Japanese market.
