Many eyes = Nice visuals
The popularity of sites that makes visualization of graphs and charts easy has increased the last couple of years. Tools like Trendrr and the large number of Google Maps mash-ups, are demonstrating a still-increasing interest in bringing data previously resigned to boring tables and spreadsheets to more eyeballs.
The latest entry to this category is a site called Many Eyes, where users can upload data to be transformed into both static and interactive visuals. A great way for people looking to validate their opinions with cold, hard collective intelligence data in an easy-to-digest format, these renderings can then be embedded in social networking pages and blogs.
I think it’s great that you easily create good looking charts, graphs and wordles, even if you aren’t that graphic savvy. With no trouble you can share your creations with your friends and embed them on Facebook or your blog. However, you need to get an IBM ID in order to get started and I think it’s a little too complicated. Nevertheless it’s a great tool you can use to pimp your presentations.
