IPG Mediabrands boosts global leadership team

Henry Tajer, recently appointed Global CEO of IPG Mediabrands, has announced several key positions to bolster his global leadership team – in a move that signals change is in motion across the network.

“We have an ambitious plan to strengthen our business globally, and we are embracing a period of positive change,” says Mr Tajer. “Talent is central to my vision for IPG Mediabrands, so I am delighted to be able to appoint the very best people from within the company, as well as bring in proven top class talent from the wider industry.”

Jim Hytner, former CEO for the Mediabrands G14 region, will assume the role of Global Chief Operating Officer this September – based in London and reporting into Mr Tajer. Mr Hytner has been with the group for more than five years, holding several leadership roles across UM, Initiative, and most recently Mediabrands.

Of this appointment, Mr Tajer says: “Jim is a forward facing world-class executive who sees the potential for our business. As he assumes the role of Global COO, we will be able to leverage his experience and skills across all of our clients, our markets, and our people. I am confident he will have a huge impact on our collective success in the future.”

Elsewhere, highly successful industry veteran Dervilla Kelly has joined Mediabrands in the newly created role of Global Chief Client Officer – where she will drive and support best-in-class account management practices and processes globally. In partnership with global brand leadership, Ms Kelly will strengthen and grow key client relationships through an audit of talent, training, and capabilities. Based in New York and bringing more than 20 years of industry experience, she will report into Jim Hytner. Ms Kelly previously worked for Mindshare.

Mr Tajer also announced that Genevieve Loriant, currently Head of PR and Communications for G14 markets, has been promoted to the role of Global Chief Communications Officer and will relocate from London to New York imminently. With an extensive background in PR and Corporate Communications, Ms Loriant began her time with Mediabrands in the Asia Pacific region before taking the wider G14 role.

These key hires and promotions follow a number of additional senior staff announcements for IPG Mediabrands. Earlier this month, Danny Bass was appointed chief executive officer of IPG Mediabrands Australia , whilst Jeff Lupinacci re-joined the company as Chief Financial Officer.
