Evernote rolls out chat feature to level with messengers
The digital workspace platform Evernote has announced the launch of its chat and presentation mode features to its users. The new feature earned its first mention at EC4 company conference in October and the update was later rolled out to beta testers over the course of next two months.
With the added feature Evernote is expected to challenges the likes of Slack, PowerPoint and messaging platforms in the industry. “The chat feature is live for all users on all platforms, and the updated presentation mode is live for premium subscribers on Mac and iOS,” Evernote said.
Furthermore, Evernote has also launched its Context feature, which apparently “uses augmented intelligence technology to find and surface relevant information to the users as they are working.” And like the chat feature it is only available to premium Mac and iOS subscribers.
The chat functionality of Evernote is called “Work Chat” which is in tune with the overall functionality of Evernote. It comes with a hovering chat window above notes for all users. The idea behind developing the chat feature is to encourage a collaborative work environment, and keep users in the Evernote app for as long as possible.
As for the update to Evernote’s built-in presentation mode, the company said the feature now includes a “visual layout editor that allows the user to insert/move page breaks, variable font sizes for display, automatic titling and captioning of images.”
