Data pick of the day: Over 1 in 5 millennials watching eSports
eSports may still be in its infancy, but this form of entertainment has been quick to make its mark according to GlobalWebIndex’s data. GWI’s data shows that 23 per cent of online Millennials engaged with eSports last month. In fact, two thirds of the eSports audience overall fall within the Millennial generation.
Regionally, it’s APAC which leads the charge here, a result of South Korea’s pivotal role in the development of spectator gaming as well as Tencent’s success in driving uptake in China.
