Apple Pay debuts in Singapore

Competition for the digital wallets got tougher in Singapore, as Apple has launched its payment system in collaboration with American Express.

This is the sixth country for the launch of Apple Pay, after US, UK, Canada, Australia and China. “Apple Pay works with American Express issued cards and soon it will work with major credit and debit cards from top banks. Just add your participating cards to Wallet and you’ll continue to get all the rewards, benefits and security of your cards,” the website explains.

Apple Pay is accepted in grocery stores, boutiques, restaurants, hotels and so many places you already enjoy. You can also use Apple Pay to pay in some of the most popular apps in the App Store.

Besides American Express, Apple Pay will soon add DBS Bank, UOB and Standard Chartered.
