amaysim names PHD Australia its media agency partner
amaysim, Australia’s low cost mobile service provider, has awarded PHD its media mandate following a competitive review process. The appointment will see PHD look after strategy and communications planning, buying and analytics across all amaysim products from May 2014. The incumbent on the business was Mediacom.
This move will also see all brand activity aggregated under this one agency relationship, excluding SEM, which continues with FirstClick Consulting. No other agency partners will be affected.
According to amaysim’s Director of Marketing, Andrew Balint, the move has come at a pivotal time for the telco, as it continues to cement its position as a significant player in Australia’s mobile services market. “We’re excited to have PHD on board as our new media agency. amaysim now has well over 500,000 customers, and as we become a household brand, we feel PHD’s data-driven approach to performance marketing is essential to ensuring we continue to outsmart our competitors. We take pride in being at the sharp end of digital marketing and we’re energised by this new partnership with the team at PHD. I’d like to thank Mediacom for partnering with us since launch over three years ago, and for being such an important part of our business success to date,” he said.
“amaysim is a very exciting brand, doing innovative things in the Australian mobile services market. The cultural fit is right. We are both challenger brands, with a focus on finding a better way. This appointment reinforces PHD’s reputation for working with innovative businesses looking for better ideas and we are delighted to have been selected as amaysim’s media agency,” added Toby Hack, MD of PHD Australia.
