iPhone 5s Remains King of the Domestic Smartphone Jungle
Notwithstanding months of expressed concern by industry analysts and market watchers that Apple’s iPhone 5s is losing its luster in the smartphone arena, nothing could be further from the truth.
Based on the latest industry data and informed analyst projections, Apple’s iPhone 5s remains the dominant device in the domestic smartphone market.
As of the end of March, Apple’s iPhone 5s continued to gain ground on sagging Android device sales. Just this Thursday, Canaccord Genuity analyst Michael Walkley told investors that the weakest smartphone sales are now those for Android devices.
For the time being, Canaccord Genuity’s research indicates that the iPhone 5S is still the top smartphone seller in the U.S.
It should be noted, however, that this reality may change when Samsung’s eagerly anticipated new Galaxy S5 arrives in the coming days.
“With our surveys indicating gradually increasing consumer interest in and pre-order activity for these new Android smartphones, we anticipate new high-end Android smartphones will gain market share versus the iPhone during the June quarter,” Walkley says.
