Outbrain names Tom Foran its first Chief Revenue Officer
Outbrain, a content discovery platform, has elevated Tom Foran to the newly created position of Chief Revenue Officer. Mr Foran was formerly the General Manager of North America at Outbrain. In this new role, he will lead all sales, client services and business operations across Outbrain’s 17 global offices. Additionally, he will oversee the expansion of the Outbrain platform to additional global markets and lead the pursuit of new partnership developments via an emerging set of innovative tools.
Mr Foran joined Outbrain in 2012 to lead its efforts in mobile and has been central to establishing the foundation for Outbrain’s growth as a mobile solution. He was also integral to the company’s acquisition of Visual Revenue by Outbrain. The move paired Outbrain’s art of content discovery with Visual Revenue’s editorial analysis.
A company statement informed that since the launch of Outbrain in 2006, its revenue has doubled every year. The start of 2014 has seen strong growth. Outbrain expanded its global footprint in 2013 to a total of 17 national offices, the newest outposts including: Singapore, Sao Paolo and Tokyo. Outbrain has also doubled its employees over the course of the past 12 months. In Southeast Asia and India, Outbrain has seen user growth in the last 18 months – from zero to over 800 million page views on a publisher network that has grown to over 150 strong in the same time period.
Prior to Outbrain, Mr Foran served as Chief Revenue Officer of Crisp Media, the interactive mobile advertising platform, and as General Manager of Ad Sales and Operations for Quigo, the online targeted advertising platform that was acquired by AOL in 2007 for an estimated USD 340 million.
“As the pioneer of content discovery, Outbrain will continually evolve our model and push innovation that best serves audiences, the brands that wish to reach them and our publishing partners. Our ambitions are worldwide and we’ve seen significant growth across every market, notably Southeast Asia and India. International expansion brings with it opportunity, particularly in the booming Asian markets, and we are thrilled to bring Tom’s experience to bear to help the company continue its growth across the globe,” commented Yaron Galai, CEO of Outbrain.
