Neo@Ogilvy augments focus on ‘performance media’ in HK
Responding to the growth in the demand for performance media in Hong Kong, Neo@Ogilvy, Ogilvy’s global media agency and performance marketing network, has bolstered its offering. One of the key steps in the direction is the appointment of senior hands at the company.
Jean Thomas joins as Search Director, with immediate effect, reporting to Scott McBride, Head of Digital, Ogilvy & Mather Group Hong Kong. Mr Thomas will oversee all aspects of search, focusing on lead and sales generation. He joins Ogilvy from travel search engine Wego.com in Singapore, though he was formerly based in Hong Kong as Digital Media Director at Beyond Media Global.
Vincent So, Associate Media Director, has been recruited to build Neo@Ogilvy’s programmatic and RTB (Real Time Bidding) capabilities. He brings experience from roles at Xaxis, MIG and Brandscreen, where he looked after global technology partners such as Google, AppNexus and Rubicon. Like Thomas, he will report direct to Scott McBride.
Explaining the strategic development of the team, Mr McBride said, “Neo@Oglivy Hong Kong is growing rapidly: our current trajectory of 40 per cent growth this year is the tip of the iceberg based on our three year plan to become the second largest office in the APAC region. We have seen a shift in client budgets towards performance digital media, and we aim to help drive topline revenue and bottom line profits for our clients. These appointments are an important part of strengthening and enriching the team to meet clients’ needs.”
The Neo@Ogilvy team is further strengthened by a number of key hires and promotions: Jason Wong joins as Search and Media Planner; Kin Lai has been appointed as Senior Media Manager; whilst Karen Clarke Ng is promoted to Social and Affiliate Performance Manager, with a focus on building out affiliate technologies and growing the social advertising performance hub based in HK.
