Trendy stuff and outfits that are soooo cool!

Sites such as Trendrr and Trendpedia has been around for some time, but now Edopter enters the scene with a new web tool that allows users to discover, browse, and track emerging trends. Perhaps more important, site members can also create, and perpetuate buzz around, new trends through what the site calls “social trendcasting.” Not only does Edopter encourage regular people to become early adopters, but it also provides them with an opportunity to attain scalable bragging rights for having discovered “the next big thing.” Users are awarded base “points” for launching/posting a trend, and additional points are awarded based on its subsequent buzz factor. Eventually, Edopter points will be redeemable for “exclusive gear and opportunities from the hottest brands,” but until then, they’ll just go towards improving one’s cyberstatus. http://www.edopter.com/

Another site that’s pretty trendy is Weardrobe. This site is a forum for street style savvy fashion to connect with each other and share pictures of their outfits. Users tag clothing items with article, color or brand so that others can see all the different ways it’s been worn. Each person’s repertoire of garments is represented as an icon on virtual shelves. For example, someone might be looking through your shelf and see that you have a bright yellow cardigan; interested to see how you pulled that off, they can click on the icon to pull up all the photos of outfits it was included in. Users can also post comments and questions under each picture. While the site will probably be more fun and useful when it has more members, it’s gaining attention from the online fashion community. http://weardrobe.com/.
