Apple Wows with New 1-Pound iPad Air
There’s something big in the “air” today across the tablet computing landscape.
Meet the thinnest, lightest and most powerful iPad to date – the new iPad Air.
“iPad created an entirely new mobile computing experience, and the new iPad Air is another big leap ahead. It is so thin, light and powerful, once you hold one in your hand you will understand what a tremendous advancement this is,” says Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.
The 1-pound device delivers a 9.7-inch Retina display, 10 hours of battery life, and the smallest bezel ever delivered in this product category.
The iPad Air is just 7.5mm thin, which is 20 percent thinner than the iPad 4.
There’s a new A7 chip in there (straight from the iPhone 5s), along with the 64-bit architecture, more than 1 billion transistors, and an M7.
The graphics are a staggering 72 times faster than the model Steve Jobs unveiled almost four years ago.
So when can you get your hands on the new iPad Air? Early November.
The iPad Air starts at $499 for 16GB. It will be available in silver and white, and space grey and black
