Samsung collaborates with SG street artist for Samsung Gear S2 launch
In celebration of their latest Galaxy range, Samsung held a consumer event in Singapore last week. Called the ‘Galaxy STUDIO’, the event hosted a preview and pre-order of Samsung’s latest smartwatch – the Gear S2 – as well as a showcase of their newest Galaxy devices, such as the Galaxy Note 5 4G+, Galaxy S6 edge+ 4G+, and the Galaxy Tab S2.
To help launch and drive traffic to the marquee event – one of Samsung’s largest in the region – Cheil Singapore invited renowned Singaporean street artist, Jahan Loh, to create Singapore’s largest graffiti artwork at the STUDIO, live.
Loh’s finished piece was inspired by the new Gear S2. Named“With every turn, your life gets better”, it measured 37.7m x 4.88m, making it Singapore’s largest graffiti art by an individual, as certified by the Singapore Book of Records.
From 25-26 September,Loh spray-painted his graffiti piece on a canvas right outside the main tentage. It featured an electrifying and dynamic mural of four Samsung Gear S2s surrounded by clock hands leaping and twisting around, signifying the key features and benefits of the smartwatch.
An online campaign complemented his live illustration, where users were invited to submit their own Gear S2 watch face designs online. Loh then selected his favourite and incorporated it into his final artwork.
