William Salmon-Lefranc moves from London to Paris

PARIS – Rubicon Project®, which operates the industry’s largest independent real-time trading platform for digital advertising, continues the evolution of its operations in Europe. William Salmon-Lefranc is promoted to Head of Buyer Cloud, Southern Europe at Rubicon Project and moves from London to Paris office, reporting into Julien Gardes, who is also promoted from Country Manager of Rubicon Project France to Managing Director of Southern Europe.

The move will improve Rubicon Project’s quality of local service to customers in France, and throughout the region. Its International business activity, headed by Jay Stevens, General Manager International, is now composed of several regional hubs: UK and Ireland; Northern Europe, led by the office in Germany; Southern European; and Asia Pacific.

Joining Rubicon Project in March 2011 from Criteo, William Salmon-Lefranc will lead a team focused on improving efficiencies and working practices with all of Rubicon Project’s buying partners in the region including agency and independent trading desks, online advertising networks, mobile media agencies and Demand Side Platforms (DSPs). Drawing on several years of experience in the online advertising industry, William will work closely with Julien Gardes and buying partners to facilitate and increase their investment on the platform, including providing data and insight on the performance of their campaigns on Rubicon Project’s Advertising Automation Cloud technology platform and broader industry analysis. He will also work with Rubicon Project’s yield management team and account management team, to support automated trading in Southern Europe.

Rubicon Project is well-established in France working with customers in the market for more than three years including La Place Media, Lagardere, eBay, The Place to Bid and Dailymotion, and has continued to staff up operations for Southern Europe over the past year.

« As we’ve seen in France, Buyers and Sellers alike in the other markets stand to benefit greatly from greater efficiency and we look forward to growing our partnerships with both sides of the ecosystems throughout region. » said Julien Gardès.

Commenting on the new team and restructure, Jay Stevens, General Manager International at Rubicon Project, explains, “Julien Gardes has proven his ability to lead a successful team in France and will now help Buyers and Sellers in the South of Europe to understand the benefits of automation. William has spent two and half years improving our service to buying partners across Europe from London, but will now lead a team closer to his clients. This will strengthen our presence in Europe and provide more detailed market knowledge and tailored counsel. Julien and William will combine their invaluable experience of the market and knowledge of the region.”

Boris Sandford also joins the team as an advertising operations specialist. Fluent in languages including French, Italian and Spanish, he will support publisher requests, including ad serving, ad quality and manage the onboarding and implementation of new accounts and traffic all new requests.
